The American role in the Honduras coup

Evidence from Honduras that the Americans participated in the coup from a radio interview with a former minister in the Zelaya government, a man who was subsequently assassinated (part one; part two):

1. The coup plotters asked the American ambassador to vet their plans;
2. Hillary Clinton lied to the deposed President Zelaya to trick him into thinking the Americans would ensure he was restored to power (presumably so he would back off enough to allow the coup to be successful).
   

This would explain the strangely ambiguous position taken by the United States while the coup was unfolding.
