A shot across the Chinese bow

"Wayne Madsen: China Fired Missile Seen In Southern California"

Ah, but didn't everybody see a plume go up?  And away from the American coast? Had China pulled a stunt like firing a missile from American waters the neocons would have gone, well, ballistic.

It seems insane - of course, the neocons are insane - but the implausible official explanations coupled with the fact that Obama was about to face a difficult G20 summit - in fact, what turned out to be the most embarrassing world meeting for an American president ever - means that this was likely a shot across the Chinese bow by the Pentagon, a reminder that the Chinese and the world still have to bow to American military might.  In fact, the world didn't blink, making the American embarrassment all the more acute.
