Something like karma

"Did climate change cause the Alberta flooding?"  The world epicenter of global warming is a bit dampish.  Calgary is an oddly liberal place in a sea of hillbillies (think Austin), but somebody keeps voting in assholes like Jason Kenney.

"DOJ Guidelines: Inappropriate To Prosecute Leaking Gov't Information As 'Theft Of Gov't Property'" Their problem is he didn't commit espionage or any other crime - though simply breathing is illegal under the Patriot Act - so they had to come up with something.  He possibly breached some contractual obligation to his private-sector employer, for which Booz Allen might sue him and recover their damages in an Ecuador court.  "Insider Threat Program: Leaks to Media=Espionage"

"The Schaden Freudes Itself II"  No booze!  I detect Assange's hand in this outrage.

"Listed Terrorist Meets with Turkish Intelligence"  "Erdogan defends Yasin El Kadi"  I should note that only the Americans consider him to be a terrorist, and that is based on the problematic claim that he financed bin Laden.  "Turkish Traffic Accident with Deep Connections"  Another complicated Turkish car accident: "Susurluk car crash".

Oh oh (my emphasis in red):
"The Internal Revenue Service’s screening of groups seeking tax-exempt status was broader and lasted longer than has been previously disclosed, the new head of the agency acknowledged Monday. Terms including “Israel,” ”Progressive” and “Occupy” were used by agency workers to help pick groups for closer examination, according to an internal IRS document obtained by The Associated Press."
"The crocodile tears of Samantha Power":
"Like most Irish-Americans who have climbed the political ladder, Samantha Power is an opportunist and a hypocrite. She has built a profitable career out of posing as a human rights activist, while being happy to court human rights abusers whenever it was expedient to do so."
It is amusing, but not surprising, that the only thing the NSA's Panopticon doesn't cover is terrorism: "U.S. Surveillance Is Not Aimed at Terrorists". It necessarily follows that stopping terrorism isn't the point of all the snooping.

"Is PRISM just a not-so-secret web tool?"  I still think PRISM is the 'limited hangout' to deflect attention from the bigger program.  By the way, the missing powerpoint slides?  Still missing.  Glen Greenwald doesn't get to wear the full halo until we get to see them.  To be fair to Greenwald, he has the choicest detractors, and showing the missing slides might actually cross into committing a real crime under American law, such as it is:
