Obama and other American politicians need Jewish Billionaire money to win elections. Of course, the money comes with onerous conditions, including bowing down to Israel (in an embarrassing way) and fighting Wars For The Jews. The bottom line is that the money is needed to win elections. If one of the onerous conditions, say attacking Iran, was to triple gas prices in the United States, completely negating even the slightest possibility of reelection for a sitting President, the money is useless and can no longer be used to manipulate the President. Via Lataan, a story - conveyed by an Israeli using the False Flag Times - from the Israelis that the CIA chief in Tel Aviv asked the Israelis to attack the USS Liberty (my emphasis in red):

"Almost 45 years ago, on May 25, 1967, in the midst of the international crisis that precipitated the Six-Day War, Amit, then head of the Mossad, summoned John Hadden, the C.I.A. chief in Tel Aviv, to an urgent meeting at his home. The meeting took place against the background of the mounting tensions in the Middle East, the concentration of a massive Egyptian force in the Sinai Peninsula, the closing of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping and the threats by President Gamal Abdel Nasser to destroy the State of Israel.
In what he later described as “the most difficult meeting I have ever had with a representative of a foreign intelligence service,” Amit laid out Israel’s arguments for attacking Egypt. The conversation between them, which was transcribed in the document Amit passed on to me, went as follows:

Hadden: “I don’t know what the significance of American aid is for you.”
Amit: “It isn’t aid for us, it is for yourselves.”
That ill-tempered meeting, and Hadden’s threats, encouraged the Israeli security cabinet to ban the military from carrying out an immediate assault against the Egyptian troops in the Sinai, although they were perceived as a grave threat to the existence of Israel. Amit did not accept Hadden’s response as final, however, and flew to the United States to meet with Defense Secretary Robert McNamara. Upon his return, he reported to the Israeli cabinet that when he told McNamara that Israel could not reconcile itself to Egypt’s military actions, the secretary replied, “I read you very clearly.” When Amit then asked McNamara if he should remain in Washington for another week, to see how matters developed, McNamara responded, “Young man, go home, that is where you are needed now.”
From this exchange, Amit concluded that the United States was giving Israel “a flickering green light” to attack Egypt. He told the cabinet that if the Americans were given one more week to exhaust their diplomatic efforts, “they will hesitate to act against us.” The next day, the cabinet decided to begin the Six-Day War, which changed the course of Middle Eastern history.
Amit handed me the minutes of that conversation from the same armchair that he sat in during his meeting with Hadden. It is striking how that dialogue anticipated the one now under way between Israel and the United States. Substitute “Tehran” for “Cairo” and “Strait of Hormuz” for “Straits of Tiran,” and it could have taken place this past week."

The USS Liberty was attacked on June 8, 1967. The Six-Day War ran from June 5 to 10, 1967.

Hadden was almost certainly an 'America-firster', who worked against the Israeli nuclear bomb program and the traitorous Israeli-firsters who stole the uranium required. On the other hand, he confirms the 'green light' theory (see Appendix II to this pdf), and has stated he believes the attack was a mistake.

So why is Israel bringing this up through its house organ, the False Flag Times? Paul Woodward:

The irony about Hadden’s invitation in 1967 is that in some sense the Israelis did pick it up two weeks later. But rather than engineer an “Egyptian” attack on a U.S. ship, the Israelis attacked the U.S.S. Liberty claiming they thought it was an Egyptian ship.
Was Israel punishing the U.S. for its neutrality in the Six-Day War — knowing that it could do so with impunity because the U.S. could not suffer the embarrassment that would have been caused by revealing the CIA’s willingness to sacrifice Americans?"

We seem to be in a kind of death match with the Jewish Billionaires, both with respect to their over-grasping and their tricking us into fighting their immoral wars. The anti-SOPA protest was successful because the tech companies, who were hoping to make money by drafting on the greed of the Jewish Billionaires, were embarrassed into grudgingly supporting freedom.

English is my first language, but I can't make any sense of it either. It is quite a piece of work to come from a professional writer. There is at least a triple negative, and perhaps a quadruple negative. It does seem to say that he refused all orders except those he found to be illegal or immoral. This makes perfect sense, as all orders from the IDF, by definition, are both illegal and immoral.

"Murdoch's Homeland" Extremely well done ultra-ultra-ultra-Zionist propaganda. I recommend it highly (in the conspiracy line, I also like Person of Interest, which is coming into its own by piling up multiple layers of paranoia, and we know governments are already using 'the Machine', although it doesn't yet work except to frame innocent Muslims). 5. Japan faces enormous economic pressure and sees the yen strength as now threatening. In order to weaken the yen, it must acquire other currency holdings in large quantity. (See the Cumberland website, www.cumber.com, for G4 central bank charts, and flip to those on the Bank of Japan. You will be able to observe how Japan expanded its balance sheet several years ago and subsequently contracted it. We expect them to expand it in 2012 as they seek to arrest yen strength.)
6. Japan is negotiating with China so that it may acquire reserve debt instruments denominated in Chinese currency. Beijing likes this because it is a step toward achieving world reserve-currency status. Geithner now worries, because the trend points toward a gradual and long-term weakening of the US position, as the world’s second (China) and third (Japan) largest economies maneuver their global positions.
7. Our Asian friends know that the US election cycle creates maximum vulnerability for the United States. That also makes circumstances more dangerous and raises risk profiles. Europe is of no help to us, given its internal crises.

What happened is that American 'progressives' were quite happy to ride along on the wave of the success of American big business/war profiteers. The civil rights movement - propelled to some extent by integration in the military fighting in WWII and Korea - allowed big business to integrate blacks into the economy, thus increasing the consumer base and the size of the work force (and thus helping to lower labor costs, although the reduction was hidden by the boom in the economy). Feminism was intended to integrate women into the work force for similar reasons. Needless to say, big business support for illegal immigration has a similar basis. All the while, the United States was on a war economy footing. The tax base continued to grow, and with appropriate taxation policies filled the government coffers with the money needed to reduce poverty, build the education system, fund health care, etc, etc. All was good, but it was all based on this unholy alliance between big business and big government, led entirely by the economic interests of big business. The model for this alliance was the military-industrial complex (and Eisenhower famously saw into the future).

When we think of think tanks now, we of course think of institutions intended to fool Americans into fighting Wars For The Jews. Back in the golden era of progressivism, the think tanks produced all sorts of progressive ideas, and they were almost all funded by big business. All these progressive ideas expanded government, and the economy, and thus were good for big business.

Everything has changed, but the 'progressives' failed to notice. The big tax base was built on a war economy and a real economy. The capitalists hollowed out the real economy, sending the wealth creation offshore, leaving the United States with just a war economy. It is thus increasingly easy for the Jews to fool Americans into wars for the sole purpose of building Anti-Assimilation Land (aka, Israel). Big business found it could use the think tanks to produce the lying basis for the end of regulations and the complete destruction of the taxation system. The American government is now essentially funded using printing presses, a habit which can only continue as long as the American dollar is the de facto world reserve currency, a happy state which is soon to end (largely caused by pressures created by all the Wars For The Jews - as an example, carefully watch the fallout from the economic pressures being put on Iran and the rest of the world by the Jew-controlled American government).

Signing on with big business, and, in particular, the big business of war, to fund progressive politics may have been a good idea at the time. It is no longer a possible model. The United States is collapsing at an accelerating rate, and more Wars For The Jews will increase the rate of decline (and a War For The Jews against Iran would surely turn the United States into a third-world country instantly). The combination of hollowed out tax base and no effective taxation on corporations and the rich means there is no longer any money to fund social programs or fix infrastructure. The current situation is just the logical conclusion of a system engineered to look out solely for the economic interests of big business.

When you look at other places that have problems from time to time - Europe or Japan - you see problems caused by corrupt politicians looking out for the interests of banksters. These are problems that pass if the underlying economic footing is strong. With the United States, all I see is an economy addicted to war profiteering and the printing press. There is no politician who will be permitted to win who proposes to change any of this (and Obama is the quintessence of a war profiteer 'progressive'). The United States, as I have said before, is fucked.

Translation: as it goes, the name of the game for 2012 is deep global recession.

First Washington leaked that sanctions on Iran's central bank were "not on the table". After all, the Obama administration itself knew this would translate into an oil price hike and a certified one-way ticket for more global recession. The Iranian regime, on top of it, would be making more money out if its oil exports.

Still, the Bibi-AIPAC combo had no trouble forcing the amendment through those Israel-firster Meccas, the US Senate and Congress - even with US Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner expressly against it.

The amendment just passed may not represent the "crippling sanctions" vociferously demanded by the Israeli government. Tehran will feel the squeeze - but not to an intolerable level. Yet only those irresponsible people at the US Congress - despised by the overwhelming majority of Americans, according to any number of polls - could possibly believe they can take Iran's 2.5 million barrels of oil a day in exports off the global market with no drastic consequences for the global economy.

Asia increasingly will need more oil - and will continue to buy oil from Iran. And oil prices will keep flirting with the stratosphere.

So why did Obama sign it? For the Obama administration, everything now is about electoral calculus. Those terminal wackos in the Republican presidential circus - with the honorable exception of Ron Paul - are peddling war on Iran the moment they're elected, and substantial swathes of the American electorate are clueless enough to buy it.

No one, though, is doing some basic math to conclude the American and European economies certainly don't need oil flirting with the $120 level if some minimal recovery is in the cards.

Apart from that self-defeating, terminally in crisis euro/North Atlantic Treaty Organization bunch, everyone and his neighbor will be bypassing this Israeli-American declaration of economic war:
- Russia already said it will circumvent it.
- India is already paying for Iranian oil via Halkbank in Turkey.
- Iran is actively negotiating to sell more oil to China. Iran is China's second-largest supplier, only behind Saudi Arabia. China pays in euros, and soon may be paying in yuan. By March they both will have sealed an agreement about new pricing.
- Venezuela controls a bi-national bank with Iran since 2009; that's how Iran gets paid for business in Latin America.
- Even traditional US allies want out. Turkey - which imports around 30% of its oil from Iran.
- Will seek a waiver exempting Turkish oil importer Tupras from US sanctions.
- And South Korea will also seek a waiver, to buy around 200,000 barrels a day - 10% of its oil - from Iran in 2012.

China, India, South Korea, they all have complex two-way trade ties with Iran (China-Iran trade, for instance, is $30 billion a year, and growing). None of this will be extinguished because the Washington/Tel Aviv axis says so. So one should expect a rash of new private banks set up all across the developing world for the purpose of buying Iranian oil.

Washington wouldn't have the balls to try to impose sanctions on Chinese banks because they will be dealing with Iran.

On the other hand, one's got to praise Tehran's balls. After a relentless campaign of covert assassinations; abductions of Iranian scientists; cross-border attacks in Sistan-Balochistan province; Israeli sabotage of its infrastructure, with viruses and otherwise; invasion of territory via US spy drones; non-stop Israeli and Republican threats of an imminent "shock and awe"; and the US sale of $60 billion of weapons to Saudi Arabia, still Tehran won't balk.

Tehran has just tested - successfully - its own cruise missiles, and in the Strait of Hormuz of all places. Then when Tehran reacts to the non-stop Western aggressive barrage, it is blamed with "acts of provocation".

Last Friday, the New York Times editorial board was totally in love with the Pentagon's threats against Iran, as well as calling for "maximum economic pressure".

The bottom line is that average Iranians will suffer - as average, crisis-hit, indebted Europeans will also suffer. The US economy will suffer. And whenever it feels the West is getting way too hysterical, Tehran will keep reserving the right to send oil prices skyrocketing.

The regime in Tehran will keep selling oil, will keep enriching uranium and, most of all, won't fall. Like a Hellfire missile hitting a Pashtun wedding party, these Western sanctions will miserably fail. But not without collecting a lot of collateral damage - in the West itself. "

The Jews have guaranteed there will not be a recovery from this depression, all for some meaningless dick-waving.

The 'progressives' and Paul

Ron Paul is a terrible embarrassment to American 'progressives' as their opposition to his campaign demonstrates how deeply reactionary they really are. In particular, Paul highlights the the dominant neo-liberal strain in American progressivism of supporting the financing of war. War financing is the heart of the modern American apparatus of state, and the state is what creates social programs and enforces modern progressive social order. This is particularly true as the business base of the country is hollowed out, leaving the business of war - and the printing of money - as the only financial basis left to support social programs.

Paul is deeply conservative, of course, and there are reasons he believes in those end goals that have nothing to do with creating a more socially just and equitable society. But then, when considering questions about Ron Paul, you have to ask yourself whether you prefer a libertarian who will tell you upfront about his opposition to civil rights statutes, or authoritarian Democratic leaders who will expand healthcare to children and then aggressively enforce a racist war on drugs and shield multi-trillion dollar transactions from public scrutiny. I can see merits in both approaches, and of course, neither is ideal. Perhaps it’s worthy to argue that lives saved by presumed expanded health care coverage in 2013 are worth the lives lost in the drug war. It is potentially a tough calculation (depending on whether you think coverage will in fact expand in 2013). When I worked with Paul’s staff, they pursued our joint end goals with vigor and principle, and because of their work, we got to force central banking practices into a more public and democratic light.
But this obscures the real question, of why Paul disdains the Fed (and implicitly, why liberals do not), and the relationship between the Federal Reserve and American empire. If you go back and look at some of libertarian allies, like Fox News’s Judge Napolitano, they will answer that question for you. Napolitano hates, absolutely hates, Abraham Lincoln. He sometimes slyly refers to Lincoln as America’s first dictator. Libertarians also detest Woodrow Wilson, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
What connects all three of these Presidents is one thing – big ass wars, and specifically, war financing. If you think today’s deficits are bad, well, Abraham Lincoln financed the Civil War pretty much entirely by money printing and debt creation, taking America off the gold standard. He oversaw the founding of the nation’s first national financial regulator, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which chartered national banks and forced them to hold government debt to back currency they issued. The dollar then became the national currency, and Lincoln didn’t even back those dollars by gold (and gold is written into the Constitution). This financing of the Civil War was upheld in a series of cases over the Legal Tender Act of 1862. Prior to Lincoln, it was these United States. Afterwards, it was the United States. Lincoln fought the Civil War and centralized authority in the Federal government to do it, freeing slaves and transforming America into one nation.
Libertarians claim that they dislike Lincoln because he centralized authority in the Federal government. Of course, there is a long reconstructed white supremacist strain that hates Lincoln because he was an explicitly anti-racist President, and they hate the centralized authority and financing power that freed the slaves and turned America increasingly into more racially equitable society. This strain can be exploited by the creditor class, who also disliked how slavery – which they saw as a property right rather than a labor and human rights issue – was destroyed by state power. History, of course, has a nasty way of mocking us about long-held fights we thought were over. The conflict between labor/human rights and property rights continues today. Or as Carl Fox said in the movie Wall Street, “The only difference between the Pyramids and the Empire State Building is the Egyptians didn’t allow unions.” Without even getting into globalization, prison labor legally makes body armor, as well as products for victoria’s Secret, Starbucks, and Microsoft. State centralized power can prioritize labor rights over property rights, and for this reason, creditors are wary of it.
On to Woodrow Wilson. Wilson signed the highly controversial Federal Reserve Act in 1913; originally, the Federal Reserve system was supposed to discount commercial and agricultural paper. Government bonds were not really considered part of the system’s mandate. But what happened the next year? Yes, World War I. And Wilson, who ran on the slogan “he kept us out of war” in 1916, started a long tradition of antiwar Democratic Presidents who took America to war (drawing the ire of among others Helen Keller, but garnering the support of union leader Sam Gompers who argued it was a “people’s war”). Wilson also implemented a wide variety of highly repressive authoritarian measures, including the Palmer Raids, the Espionage Act of 1917, and the use of modern PR techniques by government agencies. For good measure, Wilson was an unreconstructed white supremacist (even a bit out there for the time) and sent many antiwar opponents to jail. In the monetary arena, Wilson’s new Federal Reserve system began discounting government bonds. Like Lincoln, he had set up a tremendous war financing vehicle to centralize capital flows and therefore, political authority. In many ways, Wilson set up the rudiments of America’s police state, and did so arguably to help a transatlantic Anglo-American banking elite. Here, one can argue that libertarians are wary of centralized financing and political authority for liberal reasons – the ACLU was founded after the Palmer raids.
And finally, we come to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Roosevelt’s Fed is a bit more complex, because he did centralize monetary authority using wartime emergency powers, but he did so in peacetime. FDR abrogated gold clause contracts, seized the domestic supply of gold, and devalued the currency. He constrained banks with aggressive regulation and seizures of insolvent banks, saving depositors with the Reconstruction Finance Corporation. He also used the RFC to set up much of what we know today as the Federal government, including early versions of disaster relief, small business lending, massive bridge and railroad building, the FHA, Fannie Mae, and state and local aid. Eventually, the government used this mechanism to finance college and housing for veterans with the GI Bill. Since veterans were much of the population right after World War II, effectively this was the first ever near-national safety net. FDR also fused the liberal and union establishments with the corporate world, creating the hybrid “military-industrial” complex that is with us to this day (see Alan Brinkley’s “End of Reform” for a good treatment of this process).
Later, this New Deal financing apparatus was used to finance the munitions industry and America’s role in World War II. At one point, the RFC owned eight war material producing subsidiaries, including the synthetic rubber industry. Importantly, FDR had the Fed working for him. The Fed kept interest rates pegged at an interest rate set by Treasury, and used reserve requirements to manage inflation. This led to a dramatic drop in inequality, and unemployment sank to 1% during World War II. In 1951, the Fed, buttressed by what Tom Ferguson calls “conservative Keynesian” corporate leaders, broke free of this arrangement, under the Treasury-Fed Accord, leading to the postwar monetary order. That accord is where the vaunted “Federal Reserve Independence” came from.
Now, if you’re a libertarian, and you believe that centralized power is dangerous, then it’s obvious that state control over finance and mass mobilization of social resources for warfare or other ends are two sides of the same coin. If you fear social spending, you could also be persuaded to believe that any financing mechanism for mass social spending is problematic. Creditors might just dislike the possibility of any state power centers that could challenge their hegemony and privilege labor/human rights over their property rights, though they do support captive state systems they control. If you are a white supremacist, centralized power can easily be viewed as a threat to racial homogeny, since historically it has acted as such in the past. But if you are against war, or you believe that a centralized state is likely to act in an unjust or repressive manner (as it also has in the past), then war financing is a reasonable target.
Modern liberalism is a mixture of two elements. One is a support of Federal power – what came out of the late 1930s, World War II, and the civil rights era where a social safety net and warfare were financed by Wall Street, the Federal Reserve and the RFC, and human rights were enforced by a Federal government, unions, and a cadre of corporate, journalistic and technocratic experts (and cheap oil made the whole system run.) America mobilized militarily for national priorities, be they war-like or social in nature. And two, it originates from the anti-war sentiment of the Vietnam era, with its distrust of centralized authority mobilizing national resources for what were perceived to be immoral priorities. When you throw in the recent financial crisis, the corruption of big finance, the increasing militarization of society, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the collapse of the moral authority of the technocrats, you have a big problem. Liberalism doesn’t really exist much within the Democratic Party so much anymore, but it also has a profound challenge insofar as the rudiments of liberalism going back to the 1930s don’t work.
This is why Ron Paul can critique the Federal Reserve and American empire, and why liberals have essentially no answer to his ideas, arguing instead over Paul having character defects. Ron Paul’s stance should be seen as a challenge to better create a coherent structural critique of the American political order. It’s quite obvious that there isn’t one coming from the left, otherwise the figure challenging the war on drugs and American empire wouldn’t be in the Republican primary as the libertarian candidate. To get there, liberals must grapple with big finance and war, two topics that are difficult to handle in any but a glib manner that separates us from our actual traditional and problematic affinity for both. War financing has a specific tradition in American culture, but there is no guarantee war financing must continue the way it has. And there’s no reason to assume that centralized power will act in a more just manner these days, that we will see continuity with the historical experience of the New Deal and Civil Rights Era. The liberal alliance with the mechanics of mass mobilizing warfare, which should be pretty obvious when seen in this light, is deep-rooted.
What we’re seeing on the left is this conflict played out, whether it is big slow centralized unions supporting problematic policies, protest movements that cannot be institutionalized in any useful structure, or a completely hollow liberal intellectual apparatus arguing for increasing the power of corporations through the Federal government to enact their agenda. Now of course, Ron Paul pandered to racists, and there is no doubt that this is a legitimate political issue in the Presidential race. But the intellectual challenge that Ron Paul presents ultimately has nothing to do with him, and everything to do with contradictions within modern liberalism."

It is difficult not to think of Bill and Barry as you read the history. Note that all the 'progressives' commenting on this article try to change the subject, just as Stoller suggested they would. I like to call American progressives 'progressives for carpet bombing', and their recent support for the imperialist slaughter in Libya is completely in character for them.

"The thing I loathe most about election season is reflected in the central fallacy that drives progressive discussion the minute “Ron Paul” is mentioned. As soon as his candidacy is discussed, progressives will reflexively point to a slew of positions he holds that are anathema to liberalism and odious in their own right and then say: how can you support someone who holds this awful, destructive position? The premise here — the game that’s being played — is that if you can identify some heinous views that a certain candidate holds, then it means they are beyond the pale, that no Decent Person should even consider praising any part of their candidacy.
The fallacy in this reasoning is glaring. The candidate supported by progressives — President Obama — himself holds heinous views on a slew of critical issues and himself has done heinous things with the power he has been vested. He has slaughtered civilians — Muslim children by the dozens — not once or twice, but continuously in numerous nations with drones, cluster bombs and other forms of attack. He has sought to overturn a global ban on cluster bombs. He has institutionalized the power of Presidents — in secret and with no checks — to target American citizens for assassination-by-CIA, far from any battlefield. He rendered permanently irrelevant the War Powers Resolution, a crown jewel in the list of post-Vietnam liberal accomplishments, and thus enshrined the power of Presidents to wage war even in the face of a Congressional vote against it. His obsession with secrecy is so extreme that it has become darkly laughable in its manifestations, and he even worked to amend the Freedom of Information Act (another crown jewel of liberal legislative successes) when compliance became inconvenient.
He has entrenched for a generation the once-reviled, once-radical Bush/Cheney Terrorism powers of indefinite detention, military commissions, and the state secret privilege as a weapon to immunize political leaders from the rule of law. He has shielded Bush era criminals from every last form of accountability. He has vigorously prosecuted the cruel and supremely racist War on Drugs, including those parts he vowed during the campaign to relinquish — a war which devastates minority communities and encages and converts into felons huge numbers of minority youth for no good reason. He has empowered thieving bankers through the Wall Street bailout, Fed secrecy, efforts to shield mortgage defrauders from prosecution, and the appointment of an endless roster of former Goldman, Sachs executives and lobbyists. He’s brought the nation to a full-on Cold War and a covert hot war with Iran, on the brink of far greater hostilities. He has made the U.S. as subservient as ever to the destructive agenda of the right-wing Israeli government. His support for some of the Arab world’s most repressive regimes is as strong as ever.
Most of all, America’s National Security State, its Surveillance State, and its posture of endless war is more robust than ever before. The nation suffers from what National Journal‘s Michael Hirsh just christened “Obama’s Romance with the CIA.” He has created what The Washington Post just dubbed a vast drone/killing operation,” all behind an impenetrable wall of secrecy and without a shred of oversight. Obama’s steadfast devotion to what Dana Priest and William Arkin called “Top Secret America” has severe domestic repercussions as well, building up vast debt and deficits in the name of militarism that create the pretext for the “austerity” measures which the Washington class (including Obama) is plotting to impose on America’s middle and lower classes.
The simple fact is that progressives are supporting a candidate for President who has done all of that — things liberalism has long held to be pernicious. I know it’s annoying and miserable to hear. Progressives like to think of themselves as the faction that stands for peace, opposes wars, believes in due process and civil liberties, distrusts the military-industrial complex, supports candidates who are devoted to individual rights, transparency and economic equality. All of these facts — like the history laid out by Stoller in that essay — negate that desired self-perception. These facts demonstrate that the leader progressives have empowered and will empower again has worked in direct opposition to those values and engaged in conduct that is nothing short of horrific. So there is an eagerness to avoid hearing about them, to pretend they don’t exist. And there’s a corresponding hostility toward those who point them out, who insist that they not be ignored.
The parallel reality — the undeniable fact — is that all of these listed heinous views and actions from Barack Obama have been vehemently opposed and condemned by Ron Paul: and among the major GOP candidates, only by Ron Paul. For that reason, Paul’s candidacy forces progressives to face the hideous positions and actions of their candidate, of the person they want to empower for another four years. If Paul were not in the race or were not receiving attention, none of these issues would receive any attention because all the other major GOP candidates either agree with Obama on these matters or hold even worse views."

Of course, as Greenwald lists things progressives aren't supposed to notice, he fails to list the Jewish blackmail of the United States by control of the Fed, and the fact that all the wars the Americans are blackmailed into fighting are Wars For The Jews. For Greenwald, Paul is a useful candidate, but not a plausible or desirable President. He is just a goad to remind Barry he has to do better. Too bad it won't work.

The traditional right-wing attacks on the Federal Reserve are nonsense, but this conspiracy theory makes perfect sense. Couple it with the fact that the Fed has intentionally managed the current crisis into an utter disaster in order to massively enrich the 1% (at the expense of actually fixing the problems), and I think it is time for a hanging party. Without a hanging party, the United States, and much of the rest of the world, is doomed, and Ron Paul is the only guy who even knows what rope looks like. Note how his isolationism and attacks on the Federal Reserve are connected.

"Statement from fmr. Ron Paul staffer on Newsletters, Anti-Semitism" by Eric Dondero. This comes across as scrupulously fair, especially given the concluding paragraphs which show the author broke with Paul over his isolationism (my emphasis in red):

"It’s his foreign policy that’s the problem; not so much some stupid and whacky things on race and gays he may have said or written in the past.
Ron Paul is most assuredly an isolationist. He denies this charge vociferously. But I can tell you straight out, I had countless arguments/discussions with him over his personal views. For example, he strenuously does not believe the United States had any business getting involved in fighting Hitler in WWII. He expressed to me countless times, that “saving the Jews,” was absolutely none of our business. When pressed, he often times brings up conspiracy theories like FDR knew about the attacks of Pearl Harbor weeks before hand, or that WWII was just “blowback,” for Woodrow Wilson’s foreign policy errors, and such.
I would challenge him, like for example, what about the instances of German U-boats attacking U.S. ships, or even landing on the coast of North Carolina or Long Island, NY. There is much more information I could give you on the sheer lunacy of his foreign policy views. Let me just concentrate on one in specific. And I will state this with absolute certainty:
Ron Paul was opposed to the War in Afghanistan, and to any military reaction to the attacks of 9/11.
He did not want to vote for the resolution. He immediately stated to us staffers, me in particular, that Bush/Cheney were going to use the attacks as a precursor for “invading” Iraq. He engaged in conspiracy theories including perhaps the attacks were coordinated with the CIA, and that the Bush administration might have known about the attacks ahead of time. He expressed no sympathies whatsoever for those who died on 9/11, and pretty much forbade us staffers from engaging in any sort of memorial expressions, or openly asserting pro-military statements in support of the Bush administration.
On the eve of the vote, Ron Paul was still telling us staffers that he was planning to vote “No,” on the resolution, and to be prepared for a seriously negative reaction in the District. Jackie Gloor and I, along with quiet nods of agreement from the other staffers in the District, declared our intentions to Tom Lizardo, our Chief of Staff, and to each other, that if Ron voted No, we would immediately resign.
Ron was “under the spell” of left-anarchist and Lew Rockwell associate Joe Becker at the time, who was our legislative director. Norm Singleton, another Lew Rockwell fanatic agreed with Joe. All other staffers were against Ron, Joe and Norm on this, including Lizardo. At the very last minute Ron switched his stance and voted “Yay,” much to the great relief of Jackie and I. He never explained why, but I strongly suspected that he realized it would have been political suicide; that staunchly conservative Victoria would revolt, and the Republicans there would ensure that he would not receive the nomination for the seat in 2002. Also, as much as I like to think that it was my yelling and screaming at Ron, that I would publicly resign if he voted “No,” I suspect it had a lot more to do with Jackie’s threat, for she WAS Victoria. And if Jackie bolted, all of the Victoria conservatives would immediately turn on Ron, and it wouldn’t be pretty.
If you take anything from this lengthy statement, I would hope that it is this final story about the Afghanistan vote, that the liberal media chooses to completely ignore, because it doesn’t fit their template, is what you will report.
If Ron Paul should be slammed for anything, it’s not some silly remarks he’s made in the past in his Newsletters. It’s over his simply outrageously horrendous views on foreign policy, Israel, and national security for the United States. His near No vote on Afghanistan. That is the big scandal. And that is what should be given 100 times more attention from the liberal media, than this Newsletter deal."

After reading that, how could any decent and moral American not vote for Ron Paul?

It is telling that the 'progressives for carpet-bombing' and the Republican establishment both oppose Paul because he might win. Perhaps they should just form a united front and call themselves the War Party.

As far as I can tell, this has not been reported in any Jew-controlled media in Canada, just by the 'anti-Semites' at the CBC and the independent Chronicle Herald, and by the Swedish-owned Metro free papers. Considering the control Tel Aviv has over Harper, the arrests must have been a slip-up, part of the big anti-immigrant PR operation the Conservatives are working on (appealing to their 'base'). I had seen the heating pad booths, but didn't think anything of them except for noticing it was quite the rip-off (I used to see the booths selling junk like foam paper airplanes which were set up at local country fairs, presumably to steal dairy cow genetics, which is big around here). I note that I saw a heating pad booth after the arrests, so the rip off/intelligence operation is still running.

This combination of rip-off consumer sales operations (door-to-door art dealers, moving companies, locksmiths, and now heating pads) and espionage operations is unique to Israel. From time to time gangs of pickpockets visit Canada from South America, and are always clearly identified by the media by which country they come from. The Jews carefully protect their own when the criminal gangs are from Israel, and are also spies, so the gangs are never identified, and can continue to attack Canadians.

It is simple. Either Iran has a program to develop a nuclear weapon, or it doesn't. If it does, here's Leon Panetta answering Kenneth Pollack's question about a military attack on Iran (my emphasis in red):

"Part of the problem here is the concern that at best, I think – talking to my friends – the indication is that at best it might postpone it maybe one, possibly two years. It depends on the ability to truly get the targets that they’re after. Frankly, some of those targets are very difficult to get at.

That kind of, that kind of shot would only, I think, ultimately not destroy their ability to produce an atomic weapon, but simply delay it – number one. If Iran doesn't have such a program - and it almost certainly does not, as both the Americans and the Jews know - then Zionist military aggression would be the best way to force the Iranians to start and accelerate such a program. In other words, one way or the other, Zionist plans seem to be the best possible way to ensure that Iran has a nuclear bomb.

Are the Jews nuts? Without a doubt. We always have to remember that 'Iran talk' has nothing to do with Iran, and everything to do with the pressing need of a fascist military dictatorship to be in wars or talk about wars. Israel can't manage this attack by itself, and they can't trick the Americans into doing it for them. Panetta buried the reference to economic consequences, but that is the key (and separates, definitively, a War For The Jews against Iran from every other of the many Wars For The Jews, each one utterly ruinous to the United States, but not economically deadly).

The Jews find themselves in a bit of a pickle. They need to fight wars or talk about fighting wars in order to survive, but can find no wars to fight. The Jews can't do things so they take credit for things done by others. Some of these things simply didn't happen (it doesn't help that the sole source is usually an anonymous Israeli intelligence source, which gains credibility by being washed through various media outlets), some were accidents, and some were terrorist operations by a crazed religious cult. This is an iffy paragraph - hacking into Blackberry's servers would be a major task, if not impossible (that's one reason why Blackberries are still used by security-conscious corporations in this age of Apple) - but the point about Epstein's info having to come from DSK himself is valid.

There are quite possibly competing conspiracies here, a set-up conspiracy and a counter conspiracy of which Epstein's article, and the mishandling of the charges by the New York prosecutor's office (Cyrus R. Vance, Jr.), are parts. We're watching the tectonic plates of super-power grind against each other. Even the commies are in on it!

I still see absolutely no reason to doubt the story of the victim. She mains there until 2:05 PM. At 12:56, she is joined there by Brian Yearwood, the large, heavy-set man who is the hotel’s chief engineer. Yearwood had just come down from the presidential suite on the twenty-eighth floor, which he had entered at 12:51, according to the key records. Yearwood remained close to Diallo as she spoke to Adrian Branch, the security chief for the hotel, who remained behind the half-shut door of the security office. She can be seen gesturing with her hands for about four minutes, pointing to different parts of her body over and over again, suggesting she was telling and retelling her story.
At 1:28, Sheehan, still on the way to the hotel, sent a text message to Yearwood. And then another text message to an unidentified recipient at 1:30. At 1:31—one hour after Diallo had first told a supervisor that she had been assaulted by the client in the presidential suite—Adrian Branch placed a 911 call to the police. Less than two minutes later, the footage from the two surveillance cameras shows Yearwood and an unidentified man walking from the security office to an adjacent area. This is the same unidentified man who had accompanied Diallo to the security office at 12:52 PM. There, the two men high-five each other, clap their hands, and do what looks like an extraordinary dance of celebration that lasts for three minutes."

Three minutes? This "large, heavy-set man" danced for three minutes?

I don't think people are giving enough credit to the Morris/Thompson mini-documentary. Neither is an idiot, and the Umbrella Man story is preposterous. What conclusion can we draw from that? Aren't all the Official Stories preposterous? There are a number of short summaries of the final Official Story of the September 11 attacks that sound like a comedy routine. Preposterousness seems to be part of the methodology of building a story that the Powers That Be think they can get away with, and they seem to be correct.

"Occupy Wall Street Calls Off Its Egyptian Expedition" (via the Angry Arab; my emphasis in red):

"After a tough week for protesters both in New York and in Cairo, Occupy Wall Street has stalled in planning their trip to Egypt, citing logistical roadblocks and safety concerns. A group of 20 delegates had already secured funding through a proposal passed by the General Assembly nearly two weeks ago and was excited to leave for Egypt on November 25, just in time for the country's parliamentary elections. Hint: there is no such thing as an Israeli-American (btw, how did the 'Israeli-American' issue even come up?). There are Americans, and there are violent racist Jewish supremacists who attempt to pass as Americans for the purposes of running various supremacist schemes (and spring is definitely not in the air: "Arab Spring is moving the Middle East backward, charges Netanyahu"). When Occupy Wall Street fails, we'll know why. One of the deals you get if you play along with Jewish supremacism is assistance in surveillance (it may be politically difficult to spy on your own people) and in the repression of political dissent.

The various shooters couldn't see what was going on (but could easily see the umbrella). The man was part of the spotting team, located right where the shots were to hit so he could immediately see when the fatal shot landed. He could then signal for the shooting team to stop shooting. They were to shoot until they received his signal to stop.

Is there a certain genius in coming up with the least plausible excuse to explain what you were doing?

Some think the other member of the spotting team was Orlando Bosch.

It's funny how the elites always overreact when even the slightest criticism is pointed in their general direction, and overreact in a way that is against their own class interest. If they did nothing, ignored the protests and ordered their controlled media to censor information on the protests, they might buy themselves some time, but they cannot accept the tiniest criticism of their class position, and thus do exactly what would be required to make the protests grow quickly. Of course, just like in, say, Egypt, the elites know they aren't prepared to throw the tiniest bone to the 99%, so there is nothing they can do to pretend to care (in fact, the plan is to divert even more money to the 1% from the 99%). It helps that the police - not to mention the mayors, university presidents, and the like - always turn out to be subhuman buffoons, and can always be counted on to behave in a manner most likely to increase general outrage.

And so it always goes. Relatively small protests, massive overreaction - and we haven't even begun to see the inevitable police murders of protesters yet - thus escalating the anger and increasing the number of active protesters, and so on. As long as the anger and the source of the anger persists, the process is inevitable, and the lessons of history, even recent history, are completely lost on the elites and their buffoons.

Given how we know things work, can there be any doubt that the repression is orchestrated at the highest levels of government? Why would the elites settle for anything less? The 1% phone the guys at the top (of course!!!). The Department of Homeland Security was set up with one purpose, and one purpose only, to foster Islamophobia in the United States so that Jews could kill people and steal their land in the Middle East. However, once you set up an institution, and give it billions of dollars to do absolutely nothing useful, it needs to find a reason to justify its existence, and beating up 'hippies' fits the bill. Obama-protecting notwithstanding, this is going to become more obvious as time goes on.

More interesting: read the document at the link, a December 1975 memorandum of conversation between U.S. secretary of state Henry the K and Iraqi foreign minister Sa'dun Hammadi. An example of the kind of lying, sprinkled with obvious truths, practiced by American diplomats, but packed full of zingers (my emphasis in red):

"Hammadi: We, of course, have different views, and I will tell you why. Iraq is part of the Arab world. We believe the United States has been the major factor in building up Israel to what it is today.
Kissinger: True.
Hammadi: It was created in 1948 and could not have lived up to this day without the United States.

Hammadi: True. That is why there were some strained relations with the Soviet Union. Our good relations with the Soviet Union are only more recent. So it was not an American design to get a bastion of imperialism in the area. It was much less complicated. And I would say that until 1973, the Jewish community had enormous influence. We don't need Israel for influence in the Arab world. On the contrary, Israel does us more harm than good in the Arab world. You yourself said your objection to us is Israel. How can a nation of three million be a permanent threat? They have a technical advantage now. So I think in ten to fifteen years, Israel will be like Lebanon—struggling for existence, with no influence in the Arab world.
You mentioned new weapons. But they will not be delivered in the foreseeable future. All we agreed to is to study it, and we agreed to no deliveries out of current stocks. So many of these things won't be produced until 1980, and we have not agreed to deliver them then.
Our policy is to move our policy towards peace and to improve relations with the Arab world. Iraq is not a negotiator, but I think the policy of Egypt and Syria to improve relations with us helps us to bring pressure for a settlement.
The Israelis like you better than [Egyptian president Anwar] Sadat because they like to put it in terms of a U.S.-Soviet problem. We don't want you to have unfriendly relations with the Soviet Union; we don't interfere in your relations with the Soviet Union. But basically, the Israelis prefer radical Arabs.
If the issue is the existence of Israel, we can't cooperate. But if the issue is more normal borders, we can cooperate.

Hammadi: We are on the other side of the fence. We have the right to ask many questions.

Hammadi: Given the record, what can make us believe the United States won't continue the policy of the last twenty years of giving unlimited support.
Kissinger: It depends on what you mean by unlimited support. One important change in America … Sabbagh was with me when I saw Faisal for the first time. I told him it would take a few years; we would have to move slowly. I have told all the Arabs this. It has now reached the point in America where attitudes have changed. When I testify to congressional committees, I face increasingly hostile questions about Israel. No one is in favor of Israel's destruction—I won't mislead you—nor am I.
But the support in the 1960s was $200-300 million. Now it is $2-3 billion. That is impossible to sustain. We can't even get it for New York. It is just a matter of time before there is a change—two to three years. After a settlement, Israel will be a small friendly country with no unlimited drawing right. It will be affected by our new electoral law, strangely enough. So the influence of some who financed the elections before isn't so great. This has not been so noticed. It will take a few years before it is fully understood.
So I think the balance in America is shifting. If the Arabs—if I can be frank—don't do anything stupid. If there is a crisis tied to the Soviet Union, groups in America could make it an anticommunist crusade.
Hammadi: So you think the U.S. policy after a settlement wouldn't be the same?
Kissinger: We want the survival of Israel but not dominating the area. No one can conquer the Arab world. Even if they take Damascus, Cairo, and Amman, you will be there, and Libya will be there. So if Israel wants to survive as a state like Lebanon—as a small state—we can support them.
Hammadi: What is the Israeli thinking?
Kissinger: First, they want to get rid of me. Because I made them go back. Second, in 1976, they want to provoke the Arabs—in Lebanon, in Syria—because they think if there is war they can win and create great turmoil. Third, they want to pass legislation in America to antagonize as many Arabs as possible. So we get the anti-boycott, anti-discrimination, anti-arms sales legislation. They hope the Arabs will go back to a situation like 1967-1973 when the Syrians and Egyptians adopt an anti-American line. So they can say they are the only American friend in the Middle East. What they want is what you predict—that they be the only friend. We want other friends, to reduce that argument.
Aide: Your Excellency, do you think a settlement would come through the Palestinians in the area? How do you read it? Is it in your power to create such a thing?
Kissinger: Not in 1976. I have to be perfectly frank with you. I think the Palestinian identity has to be recognized in some form. But we need the thoughtful cooperation of the Arabs. It will take a year or a year and a half to do it and will be a tremendous fight. An evolution is already taking place.
Aide: You think it will be part of a solution?
Kissinger: It has to be. No solution is possible without it. But the domestic situation is becoming favorable. More and more questions are being asked in Congress favorable to the Palestinians.
Hammadi: Do you think a Palestinian state is possible?
Kissinger: We don't exclude it as a matter of principle. You can't do it now.
Hammadi: What about Palestinians who are now refugees? The Palestine area is now crowded—Gaza and the West Bank.
Kissinger: They should have a choice, either to stay where they are or go to a Palestinian state.
Hammadi: You think some in, say, the Galilee area might choose to leave Israel and join the new Palestinian state?
Kissinger: In Galilee?
Hammadi: Arab Israelis.
Kissinger: I have told friends that peace isn't a final end. Wars begin elsewhere between countries that are at peace. Only in the Middle East do wars begin between countries that are at war. But we support the existence of Israel. We draw the line at the destruction of Israel.
Aide: The Palestinians already put aside this idea. This is my personal view. Because the Israelis are trying to buy land in the Galilee area, and there is resistance. The Communist Party in the area is using it in the municipal elections. Is this because the Israelis are looking to the creation of a Palestinian state and want to buy this land?
Kissinger: It could be in their minds. I am not familiar with it.
Aide: This is being used by the Communist Party in the area. The Israelis know you Americans are behind the idea of a Palestinian state.
Kissinger: We have to be careful and move gradually. The Israeli press accuses me. I have said we can't move to the Palestinians until they accept the existence of the State of Israel and Security Council Resolution 242. I have never excluded the recognition of the PLO; I have always tied it to recognition of Israel and 242. The implication is we will do something if they do recognize Israel and 242.

"After the September 2008 crash, Iceland’s government took over the old, collapsed, banks and created new ones in their place. Original bondholders of the old banks off-loaded the Icelandic bank bonds in the market for pennies on the dollar. The buyers were vulture funds. These bondholders became the owners of the old banks, as all shareholders were wiped out. In October, the government’s monetary authority appointed new boards to control the banks. Three new banks were set up, and all the deposits, mortgages and other bank loans were transferred to these new, healthier banks – at a steep discount. These new banks received 80 percent of the assets, the old banks 20 percent.
Then, owners of the old banks were given control over two of the new banks (87% and 95% respectively). The owners of these new banks were called vultures not only because of the steep discount at which the financial assets and claims of the old banks were transferred, but mainly because they already had bought control of the old banks at pennies on the dollar.
The result is that instead of the government keeping the banks and simply wiping them out in bankruptcy, the government kept aside and let vulture investors reap a giant windfall – that now threatens to plunge Iceland’s economy into chronic financial austerity. In retrospect, none of this was necessary. The question is, what can the government do to clean up the mess that it has created by so gullibly taking bad IMF advice?"

Funny that we're in the middle of a big propaganda blitz that Iceland did the right thing and is a model for us all, while it looks like a slightly more sophisticated defalcation.

How the FBI got their hooks in the Iranian assassination plot patsy:

The charge was in March 2010. The normal procedure would be to drop the charges in return for the patsy's 'help' in investigating the Mexican drug cartel. Normally, a guy like Manssor Arbabsiar would never have the opportunity to meet with a high ranking member of a Mexican drug cartel. Who does he think he is, Walter White? The FBI would provide the introduction, to a guy who just happens to be a DEA informant. The sting would be to convince the Mexican that Arbabsiar could provide the cartel with wholesale quantities of Iranian heroin. In the middle of the two weeks of negotiations, the informant managed to make this seem like it was about an assassination plot, something that never would have even occurred to a guy like Arbabsiar (watch the two Gareth Porter videos, and read this). The twist may be that somewhere along the line Arbabsiar decided he could scam his Iranian contacts into paying him a commission for the drug deal Arbabsiar knew would never go through (which would explain the payments made to him from a mysterious source, presumably prepayment of part of his commission for arranging the deal). From Arbabsiar's point of view, the whole thing was about staying out of jail while making a little money on a phony drug deal. The entire assassination plot was fed into the transcripts by the DEA informant. If Arbabsiar went along with it, it was just to keep the drug deal in play long enough to collect money from Iran.

"Israel sees danger precisely because the Palestinian bid will do a couple of things that call into question some significant aspects of the status quo. First of all, since it will certainly pass with a huge majority in the General Assembly if the Palestinians opt to go that route, it will provide overwhelming international confirmation of Palestinian rights with the U.S. and Israel standing on the wrong side on the issue. It will also severely undermine Israel’s moral position, such as it is, and emphasize the illegality of the Israeli occupation of parts of the West Bank. The process is already illegal in the eyes of the rest of the world, including the United States, but it will be even less tenable if a convincing majority of the world’s countries recognize Palestine as a state with defined borders and a national identity.

Second, recognition of statehood carries with it recognition that the state exists within defined space, in this case the 1967 borders. It means that any Israeli settlement that is on the other side of that border is considered completely illegal and that Israel is therefore a rogue state that is occupying and settling lands belonging to a neighboring state 44 years after the cessation of hostilities. Even the New York Times in an article on Sept. 10 regarding the recent unrest in Egypt, noting that Islamic groups were not involved, conceded that criticism of Israel has a basis in the widespread popular perception that “Muslims, Arabs, and indeed many around the globe believe Israel is unjustly occupying Palestinian territories, and they are furious at Israel for it.” The rejection of Palestinian statehood and the debate surrounding it will only heighten that sentiment.

If the Palestinians are in the United Nations as a full member or even with limited rights, they will have access to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where they can take legal steps against Israel and against individual Israelis. Even though Israel doesn’t recognize the legitimacy of the court, when it reaches the point where no senior Israeli government official, present or retired, can travel without concern over being arrested, it will have a major impact on how Israel sees itself and how the rest of the world sees Israel. The clear depiction of Israel as an occupying power in violation of the Geneva Conventions, to which most of the world’s nations are signatories, would also fuel the Israel divestment campaign, which is another major concern of the Israeli government, and also legitimately so, as it could have a serious impact on the Israeli economy.

The Palestinians would also have recourse to other United Nations bodies. They would, for example, be able to appeal to UNESCO to stop the Israeli demolition of Muslim and Arab historical sites and the renaming of villages and other landmarks, a considerable benefit."

Abbas gave a very dignified, elegant and eloquent speech, and Bibi responded by making farting noises with his armpit (at least, I think it was his armpit). A lot of the criticism of the Palestinian moves misses the fact that the Israelis have much of the Western world tied up as abject Jewslaves, and the Jews never intend to negotiate anything. Israel will die of its own hand, but it is the job of the Palestinians to provoke the Jews to jump off that cliff. It is also extremely helpful to shame the Western Jewslaves into recognizing how silly they look. When Obama gave his speech, he was naked on all fours, with a leather collar around his neck attached to a steel chain held by a Jew, eating dog food off the floor of the UN. Keep that image in mind.

The Americans are threatening to cut aid to the Palestinians if Abbas goes ahead with the UN statehood bid. This 'aid' is used to pay for corruption amongst Palestinian officials. What's left pays for the police state to oppress Palestinians so Israel won't have to. Cutting aid would benefit most Palestinians. Some threat! The stick is a carrot.

You have to be amused at the casual treason of most American politicians:

“I think the credibility is different,” he said, “in the sense that this is his country and he certainly would not support something that would have negative effects within his country.”

The Israelis want the aid to continue as it is really just another part of the many billions of American dollars going to the Jews. Obama's UN speech is the most embarrassingly subservient - not to mention mendacious from one end to the other - speech ever given by an American official before the UN. Americans have never been so enslaved, and the world knows it.

The carrot is even more ridiculous. For decades, the Zionist plan has been to stall using bad faith negotiations and promises of further negotiations while it expands its illegal settlements each day. If Abbas backs down he gets . . . more negotiations? Along with a requirement to recognize the legality of the settlements and the Jewishness of the state of Israel? You have got to be kidding me. The carrot is a stick.

"The humiliation of Barack Obama" I would think that a demonstration to the world that the Americans are just lowly Jewslaves is one of the main benefits of a Palestinian attempt at statehood before the Security Council. It will be interesting to see what the UK and France do - will they hang the Americans out to dry by abstaining?

The usual question about Colombia - do the Jews pay the bribes in shekels or kilos?

The offer - note the New York Times used its two best Israeli Zionists to write this article - proffered by Dennis Ross (!) to Abbas on behalf of the American government (and the Europeans, bringing up the rear as the other Jew-slaves) to convince the Palestinians to drop their UN bid for recognition as a state was so laughable you have to wonder if it was intended to be an offer the Palestinians couldn't possibly accept. Essentially, Abbas would give up, and in return the Palestinians would get to . . . recognize Israel as a Jewish state and legitimize all the settlements. As difficult as it is to believe, that's the gist of the American offer.

Of course, the lites believe that the UN recognition as a state can be used to freeze the extent of Palestinian rights, and thus at least temporarily create the two-state solution that will be used to preserve the Jewish nature of Israel. Therefore, the plan may very well be to force Abbas to obtain the state he wants. Actually, the US veto will prevent the full state, leaving the Palestinians with years of legal wrangling over whether what they got is enough to accomplish anything practical. Meanwhile, the lite Zionists will argue that the semi-state is enough to terminate any possible Palestinian claims beyond the 1967 borders.

Having said all that, the Palestinians have no choice but to go for it. They have to break the log-jam, and end the slow-motion land theft based on the infinite promises of future negotiations. The fact that Jews have schemes is no reason to assume that the schemes will succeed. This is the first time in a long time that the Palestinians have seized the initiative.

The Israeli-American-European conspiracy is to foist an 'upgrade' in status on the Palestinians that would be less than full state status. Why? The details of their machinations prove that the real issue is that Bibi and his pals are terrified of The Hague:

"Netanyahu continued his talks with U.S. envoys Dennis Ross and David Hale on Thursday, as well as Ashton and Quartet envoy Tony Blair, in an attempt to reach a compromise that would prevent an Israeli-Palestinian conflict at the UN. But no breakthrough was made, and the PA's appeal to the United Nations next week is regarded as inevitable.

Netanyahu told his interlocutors that granting the PA the status of a state would allow the Palestinians to go to the International Criminal Court in The Hague over issues like settlement construction. "But as long as it is less than a state, I'm ready to talk about it," a source familiar with the conversation quoted him as saying.

One of Netanyahu's advisers also said that Israel would not object to the PA's status being upgraded as long as it is not recognized as a state.

Both U.S. officials and Blair have been pressuring Ashton over the past few days to quash a French-Spanish initiative under which the EU's 27 members would unanimously support a General Assembly resolution upgrading the PA's status at the United Nations to that of a nonmember state. This initiative would give the PA the same status the Vatican now has.

In exchange, the PA would not ask the Security Council to grant it full UN membership or file charges against Israelis in the ICC.

Ashton, who had come to the region to gauge the parties' response to the French-Spanish initiative, did not even discuss it due to this pressure. Instead, without consulting the EU member states, Ashton raised a proposal of her own that conformed to Netanyahu's position.

Under Ashton's proposal, the PA would be upgraded to a new legal status less than that of a state. Such a status currently does not exist at the United Nations, but would be created especially for this purpose.

This status would not give the PA the standing it would need to take Israelis to the ICC."
