Erich von Däniken moment

So if the aliens taught us language, who taught the aliens?  A commentator named Syn Diesel referred to early Wittgenstein, but surely W’s critique of St. Augustine’s theory of language is more to the point (not that I’m a W fan).  Passing our intellectual problem of understanding language off on the little green – or gray – men doesn’t really get us anywhere.
