Mistakes upon mistakes

"Robert Mueller, Conspiracy Theorist" (Raimondo).  Superb dissection of the anthrax scandal (and Mueller's role in it), which was targeted at hold-outs to the passage of the Patriot Act.  Two innocent people's lives were ruined by the investigations which were intended to cover up for the real perps.

"Drinking Rum Until I Understand the Cuban Embargo" (Van Buren).

Explains a lot:  "EXCLUSIVE: Saudi investor ploughs millions into liberal icon of UK media".

"NATO’s New Libya Still Burning" (Gunnar).  The thing about these neocon policy 'experts' is that once they create a disaster they can immediately turn around and call for the disaster to be fixed by another war, secure in the knowledge that almost no one will call them out on it.  Of course, the main impetus for calls for attacks on Iran is the increased influence of Iran caused as a direct result of the wars on Iraq and Syria.

"Al Qaeda “Mysteriously” Metastasizing in Northwest Syria" (Cartalucci).

The lessons of Muammar's ass bayonet:  "Trump Intel Chief: North Korea Learned From Libya War To “Never” Give Up Nukes".

"GCC is split forever" (Angry Arab).  How is it that Oman somehow always manages to avoid these spats?

"Trump Is Reneging on His Promise to the Midwest, Biofuel Industry Says".  There are quite a few examples piling up of Trump quietly doing the right thing.

"Wasserman-Schultz And The Pakistani IT Scammers: "There's More Than Just Bank Fraud Going On Here"".  Fusion GPS seems to be the corporatization of dirty tricks, while the Awans are professional IT shenanigan experts.  Capitalism manifests itself in colorful ways in Washington.

"Shock Claim From Inside DNC: Seth Rich Leaked Emails To Moscow Lawyer One Month Before His Murder".  "Jack Burkman: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know".  A guy trying to promote his radio show by throwing multiple conspiracies together.

"Strange Fruit: Venezuela has an Opposition that Nobody Should Support".  These South American right-wingers are exactly like the caricature of South American right-wingers.

"The Guardian’s Propaganda on Venezuela: All You Need to Know".  The outright lying has reached a point where it merely indicates the threat posed by the Venezuelan government feared by The Guardian.

"Venezuela Under Siege by U.S. Empire".

"As Harvard academics prove, the truth doesn’t matter when you are bashing Russia".

"Trump is quietly moving at a furious pace to secure 'the single most important legacy' of his administration".  Of course, Killary's ambition is to blame for these decades of future right-wing legal rulings.  And the Clintonistas will continue to mock Trump for his failure to fill various bureaucratic positions, none of which matter to Trump.

"The Myth of American Exceptionalism".  It is striking the lies American authorities think they can get away with.

"Intelligence chairman accuses Obama aides of hundreds of unmasking requests".  Power.

"False Flag Terrorism Isn’t a “Theory” … It’s ADMITTED and Widespread".  I think you could say it is the norm, with real terrorist attacks being the rare aberration.  The only real terrorist attacks remaining are some of the attacks that occur in places like Pakistan against non-white people.

"Did Hillary Clinton win after all? The collapse of Trumpcare has turned her defeat into unexpected victory".  The whole vote reads like a conspiracy, the entire point of which was the self-aggrandizement of John McCain.  First, the cancer announcement.  Then the dramatic plane trip to make the vote ('will he survive?'). The loud hossanahs from the American media gushing over 'maverick' John McCain. Then his vote to enable the process to continue, which of course just set up his vote late in the night (preceded by minutely detailed coverage of everybody he met that evening, with McConnell fretting, helpless, on the sidelines).  Given the fact that everybody's votes were already known - with the actual important votes being the two Republican dissenters - the entire project was run on a predictable schedule to enable the fantasies of a megalomaniac who could be seen to have rescued tens of millions of Americans from the loss of health care.  McConnell and his Koch puppeteers didn't stand a chance up against McCain-level crazy.

"Turkey needs new Syria plan as CIA ends rebel support".  The Turks have consistently shown that they lack the determination for any long-term occupation of Syria, but will do anything to prevent the creation of a Kurdish state.

"China and India Torn Between Silk Roads and Cocked Guns" (Escobar).  Do Indians notice that their government, in striking contrast to the Chinese government, always makes the wrong choice?  It is no accident that China continues to pull away from Inda in all markers of economic and social success.

"Who Is Michael Vickers? The CIA's Afghan Jihad Architect Declares War On Trump".

"Moscow’s Syrian Blues Are Unremitting" (Bhadrakumar).  I fail to see why Moscow would fret about Iranian influence, which has been all along predictable.

"How CIA and Allies Trapped Obama in the Syrian Arms Debacle" (Porter) (the method is to take their own failures and threaten to blame them on the blackmailed politician unless he doubles down on the same failed strategy):
". . . at the very moment when Washington should have been exerting pressure on its allies to stop pouring arms into an anti-Assad war that was systematically building up al Qaeda’s power and influence in the country, the Obama administration was caving in to those allies. The reason was simple: Powerful national security bureaucracies were threatening to blame Obama for the failure of their heroic effort to save the anti-Assad war.

The lesson of the entire affair is clear: A malignant alliance between powerful national security bureaucracies and the Middle Eastern allies with whom they enjoy mutually profitable relations are pressuring the White House to approve actions that threaten the real interests of the American people—including strengthening terrorists. The only way to reverse that situation is to direct public attention to that malignant alliance of interests, which has thus far gotten a free ride."

"Body Count Comeback".  They spent a long time - the Barry years -  pretending to kill ISIS terrorists while going out of their way not to (after all, ISIS is the only true remaining American ally), so now they need to catch up using lying.

"Derek Harvey - one less neocon" (Lang).  "White House Sacks Top Iran Hawk Amid Ongoing Disagreements" (Ditz).

Interview of Thomas Frank by David Sirota:
". . . there's a class solidarity between the people at the top of the meritocracy, the academic meritocracy, the kind of people that Barack Obama appointed to run all of his agencies, the kind of person that Barack Obama is, quite frankly. There's a class solidarity between that group and the Wall Street people. They're forever expressing their admiration, before the crash, of course, before the financial crisis, were forever expressing their admiration for the Wall Street guys, talking about how creative they were, how sophisticated they were, how much they admired them.

Sirota: On that point about class solidarity in the Democratic Party, it almost sounds like that famous idea of the “best and brightest” — the smartest folks who made tragically bad decisions back then about the Vietnam War. Is there a similarity there?

Frank: It's almost exact. There are very similar groups.  I was a big Obama supporter in '08. One of the reasons I really liked him is because I knew how smart he was. I had met Barack Obama, and I was very impressed by him. I knew that he would bring in smart people to run government. By the way, that's always the word that these people use to describe themselves. Smart. That's always the word they use.

This seemed like a really good idea after George Bush, after the administration of hacks and cronies and all the idiocy. They'd run Washington into the ground. I was really excited that here comes Obama. He's going to put in these very smart people, and it's Larry Summers and it's Tim Geithner. Larry Summers was ... He's supposedly the smartest economist of his generation. He's the president of Harvard University, and all of these other guys. You go right down the list, and it's all of these people who are certifiable geniuses. They have very extremely excellent, formal academic credentials, and they proceed to continue the policies of the Bush administration towards Wall Street, basically unchanged.

Sirota: This gets to a question about “expertise.” If, as you argue, very smart, well-educated folks are making bad decisions, what is the alternative?

Frank: There is another option that I eventually figured out while I was writing this book because the first thing I did was to say, "Well, look, government by expert has, is failing us, you know?" I'd dig around in the past. Has it ever worked? The first thing you come across is the book you mentioned, "The Best and the Brightest," when the exact same thing happened during Vietnam, where you have these experts from, and again, they're mostly from Harvard, but from various other Ivy League institutions. It's the same problem. They won't listen to voices from outside their discipline, and they show this extraordinary deference to one another, to the people at the top.

Then I say, "Well, has there ever been a time when it worked?" This is where it gets interesting because, of course, there is. Government by expert has worked. The Roosevelt administration. They call them The Brain Trust. It worked very well. They pulled us out of the Depression. They won World War II. These guys were awesome. I start digging around. Who were these guys? Here is the fascinating thing. They were brilliant, but they came from all different walks of life. They weren't all these highly credentialed academic authorities. That's not what they were. This is the thing that you finally realize. There are highly intelligent people all over America, from all sorts of backgrounds, in all sorts of different industries. The best minds in banking aren't necessarily at Goldman Sachs…

What I discovered also is there is a lot of pathologies of professionalism. We had been talking about one of them, which is that they show this deference to one another at the top. Another is that they don't listen to voices from outside their discipline. You have the problem of orthodoxy.

Sirota: Which area of “expertise” do you think these problems are most prevalent in?

Frank: The worst offender  is economics. This is a discipline...I went to the University of Chicago. I have firsthand experience with these people, and they get things wrong all the time. They predict things that never happen. Things happen that they had could never have foreseen. They're just constantly, constantly getting things wrong, and they're protected. They're shielded from any kind of accountability by the nature of the professional discipline.

When you decide that this is how you're going to define expertise, this is how you're going to define excellence, is by going to the top people in a discipline like that — oh my God, I could predict even before you start what a disaster it's going to be. There's many other disciplines that are the same way. Political science. This is an endemic problem.

The other problem, I talked about how they have this deference for each other at the top. They have zero solidarity for people below them, zero.

Here's what I realized. Basically, the unofficial philosophy of the Democratic Party is meritocracy, as defined by education. Everybody gets what they deserve, and what they deserve is defined by how they did in school. This is pernicious doctrine in all sorts of ways, but one of the most pernicious ways is that there is no solidarity in a system like that between the people at the top and the people lower down in the hierarchy. This is killer."

The most striking thing about this is that it is the first thing - not in so many words but the general gist of it - that every deplorable says when asked about the Democrats, but it a big revelation for Thomas Frank to come up with it.

"Collateral Damage: U.S. Sanctions Aimed at Russia Strike Western European Allies" (Johnstone).  The inevitable course of unchecked Lawfare.

"The Mask Is Off: Trump Is Seeking War with Iran" (Parsi).  This doesn't ring true as the story makes Tillerson, Mattis and McMaster the voices of reason.

"Fox Airs Allegations That Awans Aided Wasserman-Schultz With Voice Altered Phone Calls".  Sounds like they were (/are?) general technical dirty tricksters for DWS.

"Steve Jobs' Widow to Take Majority Stake in The Atlantic".  I wonder what their corporate policy is on hiring concentration camp guards.

"When Israel’s friends in Labour advocated genocide".

"New Google algorithm restricts access to left-wing, progressive web sites":
"The World Socialist Web Site has been targeted by Google’s new “evaluation methods.” While in April 2017, 422,460 visits to the WSWS originated from Google searches, the figure has dropped to an estimated 120,000 this month, a fall of more than 70 percent.
Even when using search terms such as “socialist” and “socialism,” readers have informed us that they find it increasingly difficult to locate the World Socialist Web Site in Google searches."
"In the three months since Google implemented the changes to its search engine, fewer people have accessed left-wing and anti-war news sites. Based on information available on Alexa analytics, other sites that have experienced sharp drops in ranking include WikiLeaks, Alternet, Counterpunch, Global Research, Consortium News and Truthout. Even prominent democratic rights groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International appear to have been hit."
Google became successful because of the perception that it wasn't rigging search results. The entire massive edifice of its business of being effectively the biggest advertising agency depends on that.  Google executives are prepared to risk the hole thing for political mind control, which should be instructive when we ponder conspiracy theory.

"Kinsella’s silence on JNF racism speaks loudly".  The never-heard-of-it/him excuse never rings true.

This is hilariously crooked:  "Doctors use this software during patient visits. Now Big Pharma is tapping it to sell their drugs".

The exact opposite message

"Hermitage Capital Founder Testifies That Fusion GPS (Trump Dossier Creator) Worked For Russian Government":
". . . Browder delivered the exact opposite message from what the Democrats had hoped for as he confirmed that the Trump Jr. meeting was entirely linked to Veselnitskaya's life mission of repealing the Magnitsky Act.

But, Browder offered up an even more interesting tidbit of information, a tidbit that has been completely ignored by the mainstream media, that served to undermine the left's entire 'Russian collusion' narrative when he confirmed that Fusion GPS, the now infamous firm behind the 'Trump Dossier', was actually being paid by....wait for it....the Russians."
Unlike all the WWIII-promoting theories of the entire mainstream media, this actually makes sense, and fits the facts that we know, particularly that everybody was certain that Killary was going to win.

Stealing news

"Joyful Palestinian worshippers greeted with Israeli violence".

I know it is fun to mock the King of Jordan but it looks like the Israelis were forced to back off on their latest plans to seize the mosque compound by whatever deal Bibi had to accept to get his murdering embassy guard back (and the fanfare over him was a distraction for the loss of face).  The Israeli violence was the frustration of Stealy.

This will cheer them up:  "My child died before my eyes".

"These are the Israeli leaders who want to destroy al-Aqsa".

"State Dep’t is ‘bigoted, anti-Semitic, Israel-hating’ for saying Palestinian statelessness fosters violence".  Under the glasnost of Trump, the 'Arabists' in the State Department are raising their heads slightly above the barricades.

"The Root Cause of Today’s Antisemitism Is Western Support for the Occupation of Palestine".

"Is Gaza-Sinai state a possibility for Palestinians?" (Cook).  I think this is the one betrayal that would finish Sisi off.

Natural high

"Israel & Jews have no legit claim to Temple Mount".  "Israeli settlers raid Palestinian home, move in furniture despite court ruling".  Again:  "Rick and Morty | The Adventures of Stealy".

"Why Israel censored reporting on the Jordan embassy shooting":
"According to Israel's government, an Israeli security guard opened fire after a 17-year-old Jordanian, who had entered the embassy complex to replace furniture, attacked him with a screwdriver.
But reports on Jordanian media suggest that it wasn't the Jordanian workman who attacked the guard, but that he himself was shot by the guard during an argument between the two.
Although there was no official gag order issued by the court, the Israeli Military Censor did not allow the incident to be published on local media - a rule all media outlets in the county are bound to when reporting about security issues."
The Israelis then got their asset Kushner to intervene to get the Jordanian King to play along, created an absurd story of a terrorist attack thwarted by a brave Israeli, and brought the killer back to Israel as a national hero!  "Jordan Angered by Israel's Portrayal of Embassy Crisis and 'Absurd Hero's Welcome' Given by Netanyahu".  If this registered with you at all, it was as a brave beleaguered Jew fighting off an appalling Arab terrorist attack against innocent embassy staff.  Remember this as you swallow whole the next media story of 'terrorism'!

The massively important MAGA thing that Trump did is being intentionally not noticed - except for a few bleats from Israel and its supporters - because noticing it would raise a lot of uncomfortable questions about what exactly Bush and Barry were up to:  ""Donald Trump just kept his most important promise on the Mideast" - Mulshine".

I don't know if it is true in any way, but the religious right seems to have the idea that Americans are joining the military for the sole purpose of having sex change operations paid for by the American government.  This seems to be an issue of American health care issues spilling over elsewhere.  Anyway:  "Trump values bottom line more than soldiers’ well-being: Teitel".  "Big business beginning to understand bottom line, support for transgender rights are linked: Teitel":
"Jennifer Pritzker is a retired U.S. Army colonel and a businesswoman. She is also thought to be the only openly transgender billionaire in the world.

The Pritzker family founded the Hyatt hotel chain and, according to Forbes magazine, is one of the 400 wealthiest broods in America. Forbes estimates that Pritzker alone is worth $1.76 billion."
Jennifer is the cousin of Barry's Penny.  I wonder why the encouragement of this recent fashion of extreme body modification isn't regarded as medical malpractice in the psychiatric profession.

"Steve Bannon Pushing For 44 Percent Marginal Tax Rate On The Very Rich".  Only about half-way there, but still enough to cause a Koch heart attack.  Speaking of the Kochs, their ability to control the Republicans into walking a tightrope over American health care, with such profound and massive negative effects on millions of people of even one slip, is amazing.  I can't believe what I am seeing, but Americans seem to have accepted it as normal.

"Imperial Power Centers" (Petras).  On the upcoming American budget battle.

Wtf?:  "Lindsey Graham asks whether AIPAC, which comes to Capitol Hill in ‘droves,’ is a foreign agent".

"Russian meddling is Watergate-worthy, but Israeli meddling is hunky-dory" (Weiss).

"The Atlantic Council: Experts on the front line of disinformation".

"Tillerson to Remain at State Department Despite Reports of Resignation" (with appropriate illustration).  Despite the constant rumors (partly due to Trump's own Twitter manipulation of the media landscape), the relatively unimportant Spicey is the only prominent one who has left, and Trump didn't want him to go.  Trump's high business executives have been with him for decades, and it appears he values loyalty above all.

"The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of the American Secret Government".  Again, the same people who publish this are completely incapable or unwilling to see exactly the same thing being done by the exact same IC today against Trump!  Tomorrow, without so much as a blink, they will publish some more WWIII-promoting anti-Russian crap based on completely unsubstantiated and illegal IC leaks!

"7 Pictures That Prove Venezuela’s Opposition ‘Strike’ Is a Flop".  Venezuela coverage is just another example of American media malfeasance/lying.

"NYT, Reuters, Economist journalists self-censor reports from Israel so as not to be ‘savagely targeted’ — John Lyons". Note the subtle but typical lie here - they 'self-censor' because they are obvious Zionist agents, not because they are afraid of anything!

"Senators Promise To Amend Israel Boycott Bill After Backlash".  They've listened to your concerns and blasphemy will now only cost you a quarter million, mere pocket change!

A new tax on Europeans, and a large one, based on the higher prices they will have to pay for American LNG rather than the planned Russian supply, and for once the craven Euro politicians are pretending to have backbones:  "EU To Retaliate "Within Days" If US Imposes New Sanctions On Russia".  Possible face-saving way out:  "Make America Safe: Put Congress on Permanent Recess (What the Sanction Bill is Really About)" (Mish).

"America's Militarized Police" (Giraldi).  The American nativists, the same people who say not a peep about the ridiculous amount of police violence against minorities, took this obvious police wrongdoing story - about police training and a systematic fascist political attitude that has consumed American policing - and turned it into a Somali wrongdoing story.

"Do you know this man? OPP hope forensic art will crack decades-old case".  I don't know what is new about this technology, but I always like to see the police try to solve cold cases.  Perhaps the most famous unidentified Canadian(s):  "Sumter County Does" (also).

Big mistake

"Why Hitler Let the British Escape at Dunkirk" (the extreme danger of anglophilia):
"Hitler was accompanied by only one of his staff, and talked in private to Rundstedt and the two key men of his staff—Sodenstern and Blumentritt. Here is what the latter told me—”Hitler was in very good humour, he admitted that the course of the campaign had been ‘a decided miracle’, and gave us his opinion that the war would be finished in six weeks. After that he wished to conclude a reasonable peace with France, and then the way would be free for an agreement with Britain.

“He then astonished us by speaking with admiration of the British Empire, of the necessity for its existence, and of the civilization that Britain had brought into the world. He remarked, with a shrug of the shoulders, that the creation of its Empire had been achieved by means that were often harsh, but ‘where there is planing, there are shavings flying’. He compared the British Empire with the Catholic Church—saying they were both essential elements of stability in the world. He said that all he wanted from Britain was that she should acknowledge Germany’s position on the Continent. The return of Germany’s lost colonies would be desirable but not essential, and he would even offer to support Britain with troops if she should be involved in any difficulties anywhere. He remarked that the colonies were primarily a matter of prestige, since they could not be held in war, and few Germans could settle in the tropics.

“He concluded by saying that his aim was to make peace with Britain on a basis that she would regard as compatible with her honour to accept.

“Field-Marshal von Rundstedt, who was always for agreement with France and Britain, expressed his satisfaction, and later, after Hitler’s departure, remarked with a sigh of relief—‘Well if he wants nothing else, then we shall have peace at last’.”

When Hitler continued to keep on the brake, Blumentritt’s thoughts ran back to this conversation. He felt that the “halt had been called for more than military reasons, and that it was part of a political scheme to make peace easier to reach. If the British Army had been captured at Dunkirk, the British people might have felt that their honour had suffered a stain which they must wipe out. By letting it escape Hitler hoped to conciliate them.”

This conviction of Hitler’s deeper motive was confirmed by his strangely dilatory attitude over the subsequent plans for the invasion of England. “He showed little interest in the plans,” Blumentritt said, “and made no effort to speed up the preparations. That was utterly different to his usual behaviour.” Before the invasion of Poland, of France, and later of Russia, he repeatedly spurred them on. But on this occasion he sat back."
The problems of having your media run by concentration camp guards:  "When the Gatekeepers of Press Freedom Deride Trump or Putin…".  Viz:  "Donald Trump's Defenders on the Left".  Note how Beinart takes as indisputable fact the utterly unproven and, frankly, bizarre, Russian meddling claims.

Tweet (Syricide) (reminds me of the old Wars For No Oil thesis created when the Wars For Oil thesis was too obviously ridiculous):
"The spin takes a new desperate turn. Putin wanted to be discovered."
" Implodes, Resorts To GoFundMe". I see lots of opportunities here for control of the message by blackmail.

Is Jacobin just another disguised ultra-Zionist front?:  "Jacobin Magazin on Khan Shaykhun" (Angry Arab).  Seems so.  You can't trust anybody.  Note the convoluted, but highly successful, efforts made to burnish the reputation of Noam.

"The Beginning of a Crucial Week in Venezuela".  "Q & A: The National Constituent Assembly in Venezuela".  "Venezuelan opposition “consultation”: playing alone and losing".  After the MAGA sea change in terms of freeing America from Jewish control, this is the big deal of the week, and not just for Venezuelans, which explains the big American involvement.

"Fear and Trepidation in Tel Aviv: Is Israel Losing the Syria War?"  This is the most important part of MAGA, that Trump appears to be ignoring the usual whining.

"Former CIA Director Calls For A Coup If Trump Fires Mueller".  Sessions should arrest Brennan - for treason! - and use that arrest as leverage to round up the illegal IC leakers.  Firing Mueller is a trap that the enemies of the United States want Trump to fall into.

I remain amazed at how Who.What.Why. can be so good on Watergate and the Boston Bombing but utterly embarrasses itself with this kind of content-less innuendo crap on Trump:  "Irakly Kaveladze — The Eighth Person in Trump Tower Meeting".

"Israel’s History Of Unbelievable Child Abductions".

"Welcome to Our Global Censorship and Surveillance Platform".  'Recidivism'?  Zuck for President based on Facebook lies?

An American Houellebecq?

"Feminism Co-opted".  Tranny-bathroom 'feminism' is where it gets hilarious, but Killary-as-feminist is more dangerous.

"Putting Shylock to Shame: The Moneylender Portrayed as Hero".

Positively bizarre, as anti-Muslim hate speech is usually strongly encouraged in Canada:  "Notorious Mississauga blogger known for anti-Muslim rants faces hate-crime charge".

Timber Sycamore, felled

Tweet (Donald J. Trump):
"The Amazon Washington Post fabricated the facts on my ending massive, dangerous, and wasteful payments to Syrian rebels fighting Assad....."
This is an extremely important tweet as he said the unsayable, even naming names!

Add:  "US Military Establishment Study Admits The American Empire Is "Collapsing"" (see Escobar) and "Russian Military Could Force The U.S. Out of Syria, Army Official Says" (the official being Special Operations Command chief Army General Raymond Thomas) and even this petulant fury (with the usual concomitant media manipulation:  "ZOA Calls For Tillerson’s Resignation".  It's a sea change towards MAGA!

See also:  "Say Goodbye to Regime Change in Syria" (Ritter).

This changes everything

"Intel Vets Challenge ‘Russia Hack’ Evidence" (big intelligence names now behind the Forensicator-inspired analysis):
"It has long been clear to us that the reason the U.S. government lacks conclusive evidence of a transfer of a “Russian hack” to WikiLeaks is because there was no such transfer. Based mostly on the cumulatively unique technical experience of our ex-NSA colleagues, we have been saying for almost a year that the DNC data reached WikiLeaks via a copy/leak by a DNC insider (but almost certainly not the same person who copied DNC data on July 5, 2016).

From the information available, we conclude that the same inside-DNC, copy/leak process was used at two different times, by two different entities, for two distinctly different purposes:

-(1) an inside leak to WikiLeaks before Julian Assange announced on June 12, 2016, that he had DNC documents and planned to publish them (which he did on July 22) – the presumed objective being to expose strong DNC bias toward the Clinton candidacy; and

-(2) a separate leak on July 5, 2016, to pre-emptively taint anything WikiLeaks might later publish by “showing” it came from a “Russian hack.”"

Note that this latest analysis makes the DNC wrongdoing much more serious, actually altering data to add 'evidence' of Russian involvement to be used at the Democratic convention as the basis for the claim of Russian hacking. Is it possible that what the Democrats are hiding is the preemptive tainting leak, which goes well beyond security incompetence into pure treason (casting unfair blame on Russia that might lead to WWIII)?  'Guccifer 2.0' would then be a fictitious creation of the DNC to proactively add the Russian spin as a distraction from the content of the leaks.

Also, Seth Rich was murdered on July 10.  His knowledge of the treasonous shenanigans on July 5 would have been a good motive for murdering him.  Though the DNC leak and the Podesta leak were separate, is it possible Rich did both, with somebody else handing the Podesta material over to Craig Murray in September, as Rich had already been murdered by then?  That would mean there is another unidentified friend of Rich and possible DNC insider involved.

"What Are the Democrats Hiding? by Publius Tacitus".  "FBI Seized Crushed Hard Drives From Home Of Wasserman-Schultz' IT Aide". Besides CrowdStrike, this adds more potential expert suspects for the insider July 5 'hack'.

Trump's constant tweeting about the DNC emails remains bizarre when apparently nothing is being done about it by his own DoJ.  But is it possible that he knows what went on and is attempting to have it both ways - use the hints of DNC wrongdoing to protect himself, while secretly ordering Sessions to stay away in order to protect his long time good friends, the Clintons?

It is certain now that the current energy squeeze on Gaza is intended by Israel to allow Dahlan to purport to provide the salvation, thus allowing this crooked Zionist puppet a foot in the door to managing the Palestinians:  "AP Interview: Ex-Gaza chief says Hamas deal will open border".

Remind you of anything?

"Did Brits Kill New York City Cops to Get U.S. into WWII?":
"The sequence of events appears to tell a damning story: On June 4, 1940, Nazi Germany shoved the last British troop off the Continent at Dunkirk. Adolf Hitler moved his forces into position for a final cross-Channel invasion and occupation of England. That same month the new British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, dispatched a shadowy figure, Sir William Stephenson—later most famous as the original of Ian Fleming’s James Bond, Agent 007—to set up a spy shop for Britain’s MI6 in Midtown Manhattan. A hero of World War One and self-made multi-millionaire, Stephenson was on neutral ground in America, but he and Churchill shared the conviction that nothing was more important to their nation’s chances for survival than winning American support for the war against Hitler. Then, on July 4, 1940, with throngs of holiday visitors at the New York World’s Fair, a time bomb planted in the British Pavilion exploded, instantly killing two New York City policemen and badly mauling five others. Was Stephenson behind the blast in an attempt to frame Nazis and their American sympathizers? Were these officers sacrificed to win American sympathy and draw a reluctant United States into the Second World War?"
"Among various foreign agents and organizations, Stephenson’s new British Security Coordination alone enjoyed a protected status. Headquartered in offices labeled Passport Control at Rockefeller Center, his operation worked, illegally, with a sympathetic Franklin D. Roosevelt in the White House to bolster American support for the British and also to attack German agents operating in the Western Hemisphere. One of Stephenson’s U.S. agents, Ian Fleming, later modeled his James Bond character on Stephenson, a man he described as “very tough, very rich, single-minded, patriotic, and a man of few words.” He had no hesitation about killing for his country’s survival, having done so as a fighter pilot in the First World War and having volunteered to assassinate Hitler in an eventually aborted plot before coming to America."
"Nobody suspected to be behind the World’s Fair bombing was ever arrested. No credible suspects were ever turned up. News coverage died down. Reports instead returned to the fair’s glittery events justifying the “World of Tomorrow” theme for millions of visitors. But the war of words over the world war being fought everywhere but the United States had taken a terrifyingly violent turn at home. Americans were now forced to pay attention to the war that they had hoped to ignore.

The failure to turn up even a suspect has led Whalen to question other possible motives individuals and groups might have had for carrying out a bombing. Much like today’s terror attacks, he thinks grabbing public attention—not revenge—was a likelier primary motive. He says, “If you were going to do something to garner world attention, you couldn’t pick a better target.” His suspicions of an “inside job,” though not involving the electrician, were aroused by reports he read in the police investigation files with, he says, “indications that police could not speak to security staff without permission, which was not freely granted. If I wanted to solve a crime, I wouldn’t impede investigators in any shape or form.” He says, “It could have just been the stuffy British attitude, but the authorities at the Pavilion were interfering” with police efforts to interview security staff members, according to the files he read. Even the U.S. government seems not to have followed up on leads. While he has seen file copies of FBI letterhead material about the investigation, his request to the FBI for files related to the bombing investigation came back empty. The FBI told him they had nothing.

Given Stephenson’s known willingness to carry out criminal acts on American soil to aid his cause, it’s not far-fetched to conclude his British Security Coordination was possibly behind the blast at his nation’s own World Fair pavilion. “You’d get a lot more sympathy [for the British cause],” Whalen speculates, “if brave guys were killed.” He won’t come down on one side or the other without definitive evidence, but says, “It’s as good a theory as any.”"
Also at the New York World's Fair (selling stuff before you've even stolen it, or had a conceivable opportunity to do so):
". . . and the Jewish Palestine pavilion stood as the first international structure of the proposed Jewish nation."

Orion Strategies

"McCain and the Trump-Russia Dossier: What Did He Know, and When?" (on Orion Strategies; McCain's lifetime of treason may be finally catching up with him on his deathbed):
"But getting hung up on whether Orion directly brokered the dossier's release to media may miss the larger picture, anyway. The close contact between a U.S. senator, leaders of an allegedly non-governmental (and tax-exempt) organization that bears his name, lobbyists for foreign governments (including Russia on Fusion's end, and Russia enemies like Georgia on Orion's end), foreign intelligence agents, paid opposition researchers, and influential U.S. media—going back at least a decade, and including ample activity surrounding the 2016 election—should raise eyebrows even under ordinary circumstances. And we are living in a time where top people the world over are trying to verify whether a reality TV star turned U.S. president compromised U.S. democracy over a tape of Russian ladies peeing.

So where does this leave us? Are the likes of McCain, Kramer, et al. simply fellow dupes in a Democrat-driven, foreign-op stoked ploy to influence the U.S. election with outlandish accusations? Or did they play a more active role in bringing this bombshell to the American public?

The Steele lawsuit may eventually provide more clarity. In the interim, as everyone focuses on Trump and his family's shady shenanigans with Russia—none of which are necessarily diminished by anything here—we might also do well to apply the same scrutiny to just how and why the dossier details came to be and came to light."
"Murder, Spies And Weapons - Three Fascinating 'Deep State' Stories".  The first one is particularly interesting in revealing the mechanics, and the massive scope, of the arming by the CIA of the 'moderate' human organ eaters

"The long-running family rivalries behind the Qatar crisis".  The fact that they are all related to one another adds to the intrigue.

"Hacking the Vote: Who Helped Whom?"  Utterly evidenceless (of course, as usual) speculation that Cambridge Analytica (Mercer's outfit) was able to help Trump so much with its detailed data because the Russians supplied the data.

"Why Canada Is Able to Do Things Better".   It is not taxation.  There are a number of what used to be called 'first world' countries which are peers of the USA - similar standards of living, economic structures, basic shared understanding - which all have remarkably more success in infrastructure, education, health care results, etc.  Why do they succeed when the United States is failing?  They don't spend trillions and trillions of dollars fighting and preparing for wars.  It is bizarre that Americans still think wars are free.  How can a country fighting multiple major wars at the same time (not one of which, I might add, is of any use to anybody but Israeli generals), with 800 (!) military bases, expect to be able to afford to run an otherwise competent country?

"Global Police Spring a Trap on Thousands of Dark Web Users".  Note another 'apparent suicide'.  It is amazing that people think they can safely buy illegal stuff on the internet based on an understanding that they can trust completely unknown actors.

"The media's war on Trump is destined to fail. Why can't it see that?" (Frank).  This is fine, but I think underestimating Trump is also a major problem which Frank shares:
"Trump certainly has it coming. He is obviously incompetent, innocent of the most basic knowledge about how government functions. His views are repugnant. His advisers are fools. He appears to be dallying with obviously dangerous forces."

20 years in prison

"U.S. Lawmakers Seek to Criminally Outlaw Support for Boycott Campaign Against Israel":
". . . Anyone guilty of violating the prohibitions will face a minimum civil penalty of $250,000 and a maximum criminal penalty of $1 million and 20 years in prison."
This is a wonderful example for all Americans to ponder.  In case it had slipped your minds who your masters are.  If you are lucky and contrite you may get to skip the jail time and only have to pay the trifling quarter million dollar minimum fine.

"Bill making it a federal crime to support BDS sends shockwaves through progressive community" (Weiss) (btw, the comment section at Mondoweiss is considerably improved without the ridiculous lite Zionist over-moderation that used to plague it):
". . . the bill is about the Israel lobby’s presence inside the Democratic Party, and therefore of the role of conservative Zionist Jews inside the Democratic Party. The efforts by many to claim that the Israel lobby is also evangelical Christians (lately Paul Pillar at Lobelog) is pure deception when it comes to the Democratic Party. Evangelical Christians don’t tell Schumer and Gillibrand how to vote on stem-cell research or abortion, and they don’t tell them how to vote on Israel either. No, the organized Jewish community does."
"Adam Schiff is worthy of special mention, as David Bromwich points out to me. “He is among the scores of obedient Democrats co-sponsoring the bill. Schiff has a high reputation in liberal circles, but he voted for the Iraq war, supported the Saudi intervention in Yemen, said the assassination of Qaddafi was ‘an end to the first chapter of another popular revolution,’ and approved of Trump’s bombing of Syria. On foreign policy he is a believer in the conventional wisdom of the Cold War and the War on Terror, that’s all; but his opinions have taken on an outsize importance since he is now routinely accepted as the party’s outstanding authority on Russia. He knows Russia about as well as he knew Iraq and Libya."
"Schumer and Macron equate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism so as to target BDS" (Ofir).

How does this work?  Does each congresscrook get a box containing a bag of shekels, a copy of the bill, and an express warning not to read the bill?  Actually, do they have an orientation session for newly elected members where they are instructed to never read any bills they have to vote on, for fear that a sprig of conscience might spring up from between the stones of their marble hearts?

Summer fun around the world

Old taradiddles

"Toronto woman was jailed for living with her boyfriend in 1939".  Even better than the headline (but wouldn't it be better to put 'in 1939' after 'jailed'?).  She's still alive!  The American alt-right of today is bonkers preoccupied with this kind of thing.

Nixon Trump

"Watergate and the Downing of Nixon, Part 5".  Worth reading while contemplating the similarities to the current Trump predicaments, particularly as the Jr. meeting was very likely a set-up (just like the Watergate burglary was an IC operation to entrap the paranoid Nixon in a cover-up which itself was essentially manufactured by Dean behind Nixon's back).  Who are the Bush/Moore/Dean of the Trump White House?  [And note the unsettling general attorney weirdness settling in around Trump.]

Nixon was hardly the kind of outsider to the Republicans that Trump is, but was regarded as weirdo by rich east-coast traditional Republicans like Bush (who were of course also traditional leaders of the IC, and thus in positions to do much mischief, just like today).  Nixon was isolated in much the same way that Trump is.  Jeb!'s campaign financed the original preparation of the piss dossier, and BrainCancerMan spread it around town. Things Trump might do to get out from under are all criticized on the basis of similarities to the supposedly horrible Nixon precedents.

Trump could have called off the CIA's malign efforts in Syria on the QT, but he made a big point of announcing it, effectively turning it into a public denunciation of CIA competence.

"New Scapegoat Emerges In Unmasking Scandal: Meet Obama's Former U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power".  I think he means suspect rather than scapegoat.

One of the perhaps paradoxical advantages that Trump has over Nixon is that Nixon tried to hide everything, while Trump of course is constantly criticized for his over-sharing.  It is difficult to accuse Trump of covering up!

CIA Syria Program Details

"Murder Of Green Berets In Jordan Exposed Secretive CIA Syria Program Details".  Rather important, and therefore completely hidden from the American people by the vile, Jew-controlled media.  The kind of thing that Trump just ordered stopped, to the predictable wailing.

"NEO – The Fatal Flaw in Washington’s New Energy Strategy" (Engdahl) (needless to say, Engdahl consistently and obviously wrongly portrays Wars For The Jews as Wars For Oil, which is why I hardly ever cite his flawed work, and how does this jibe with the carbonite thesis? - it's complicated, as clearly seen in the conflicting policy moves vis-à-vis Qatar):
"If we view the often confusing Trump Administration policy aims through the special prism of global domination of natural gas and strategic denial of same for other rivals, a clear strategy is now visible. One key cornerstone of the Trump strategy is the attempt to make Poland a European hub for US shale gas via support of the Three Seas Initiative.

A second cornerstone of the new Washington strategy is to sabotage an emerging Qatar-Iran-Syria-Turkey natural gas alliance to bring the world’s largest natural gas reserves in the shared gas field in the Persian Gulf straddling both Iranian and Qatari territorial waters.

That sabotage was launched between Saudi Arabia and Washington during Trump’s recent visit to Riyadh where among other issues Trump encouraged a Saudi-led Sunni “Arab NATO.” The result was the bizarre Saudi-led sanctions against Qatar for ties to Iran and support of Muslim Brotherhood terrorism. Bizarre because as most of the observant world knows, Saudi Arabia today is the world’s leading sponsor and financier of terrorism along with Washington and has been since at least the support for Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda Mujahideen in Afghanistan after 1979."
"The most serious fatal flaw however on the Trump USA shale export domination plan is the stability of shale gas production itself. Because of the geology of unconventional shale gas, the well production has a relatively high beginning flow rate. However, as repeated tests have shown, shale gas wells experience a hyperbolic decline in volume after about 4-5 years. tests indicate that gas volume can decline by some 80% after 7-8 years.

This means that perhaps 80% of the profit of a shale well comes only in the first 5-7 years before dropping dramatically. This means that to continue the levels of gas output far more wells must be drilled at a far higher cost in terms of gas price to the end users as well as costs to the environment."

"Watergate and the Downing of Nixon, Part 4" (Baker) (a shame we can't see this level of analysis on the attack by the same IC on Trump; my emphasis in red):
"In fact, though the burglars were ostensibly seeking records while on a covert mission, they did not act like people who wished to avoid discovery. In addition to smashing the windows and prying open the front door with a crowbar, the burglars proceeded to vandalize the office, scattering papers, pills, and files across the floor. The result was to ensure the generation of a crime report, establishing a record of the burglary. The break-in would not become public knowledge until John Dean dramatically revealed it two years later — and implicitly tied Nixon to it by citing the involvement of Egil Krogh, the man in charge of Nixon’s so-called Plumbers unit.

Dean and his lawyers showed far greater enthusiasm for pursuing the Beverly Hills break-in than even the prosecutors. As Renata Adler wrote in the New Yorker: “Dean’s attorney, Charles Shaffer, practically had to spell it out to [the prosecutors] that they would be taking part in an obstruction of justice themselves if they did not pass the information on.”

Like Watergate, the Fielding office break-in was on its face a very bad idea that was not approved by Nixon but certain to deeply embarrass him and damage his public standing when it was disclosed. The principal accomplishment of the break-in was to portray Nixon as a man who had no decency at all — purportedly even stooping to obtain private psychiatric records of a supposed foe. This was almost guaranteed to provoke public revulsion.

The notion that a group surrounding the president could be working to do him in might sound preposterous to most of us. But not to veterans of America’s clandestine operations, where the goal abroad has often been to do just that.

And Nixon was a perfect target: solitary, taciturn, with few friends, and not many more people he trusted. Because of this, he had to hire virtual strangers in the White House, and as a result, the place was teeming with schemers. Nixon was too distrustful, and yet not distrustful enough. It was supremely ironic."
